THERAPY SESSION 4
THERAPIST:
You missed three doses, Kanata. That’s why you’re feeling this way.
KANATA:
I don’t need your pills. They make everything worse.
THERAPIST:
They’re meant to help you manage your thoughts — your impulses.
KANATA:
My thoughts are the only real thing I have left. You want to take that from me?
THERAPIST:
Kanata, please—calm down. No one is trying to hurt you.
KANATA:
Liar. I see it in your eyes. I know what you’re doing.
THERAPIST:
Security reported that you became aggressive in the hallway. You shoved an orderly, and you were screaming.
KANATA:
He touched me. I told him not to touch me.
THERAPIST:
Kanata, I’m going to have to log this incident. You need to start taking your prescriptions again.
KANATA:
You can log whatever you want. I flushed them. Again.
THERAPIST:
10mg Aripiprazole and 2mg Diazepam daily. That’s what we agreed on. Without them, this gets worse. You know that.
KANATA:
Let it get worse. Maybe then you’ll all leave me alone.
THERAPIST:
We’re not giving up on you. Even if you’ve given up on yourself.
